My second favourite site is yahoo. Yahoo is a search engine that is fast and has the best results compared to most of the other search engines. Search engines are websites that looks for a specified topic in all the websites of the world and displays a list of the sites resembling the topic that was typed in the search box. This can be useful when a student has to find information on a project. It saves an incredible amount of time and gives the information you want. Without search engines you would have to guess a site or look into indexes of web hosts.
I prefer Yahoo out of all the other search engines because it is one of the oldest, the best (according to me), and it doesn’t only search for web pages but it also offers many resources. The resources include the latest news that includes as much information as you would find in your local newspaper. Yahoo is also available as an independent site according to your country. Canadian users going to http://www.yahoo.ca will find Canadian sites and Canadian news then going to http://www.yahoo.com and find information about the world (mostly United States). I would find that Yahoo is inferior to Alta-Vista which can search images or search for any other type of media on the internet. People have to admit when Yahoo has more results that make sense compared to the one that are found on Alta-Vista.
Yahoo also includes several advanced type of search options which can used to find more accurate sites resembling your search criteria. The advance option includes:
Include all of the words – which will result in sites that have all the words typed in the search box.
Include this exact phrase – which will result in sites that displays the exact phrase typed in the search box.
Include at least one of these words –that will result sites that has one of the several words searched for.
Exclude these words – will exclude all the words typed in.
I have made yahoo my home page from several years and I hope you do the
same after browsing through it's features and its results.
